Inside the city first
Before driving anywhere, note that the surviving Atlantic City venues are clustered a block off the Boardwalk. If you are staying in the Boardwalk corridor, 'nearby' means a walk, and driving out of town is usually solving a problem you do not have.
The Route 30 corridor
The Absecon Boulevard approach into the city carries at least one operating venue. These are drive-to places built around parking rather than foot traffic, which makes a designated driver mandatory rather than sensible.
Wider South Jersey
Further inland the information quality collapses. Several venues appear in aggregator directories with no working website, no current hours and phone numbers that conflict between listings. We keep them in the directory with their status marked unconfirmed rather than either deleting them or implying they are open.
How to check a listing yourself
Three tests catch almost every dead listing: does the venue have a working website of its own, does the phone number connect, and does any source dated in the last year mention it. A venue that fails all three is probably gone.

- Check local news for closure coverage by name
